Jenny McCarthy: Autism Activist

Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey
Millions of her fans know Jenny McCarthy from her modeling and acting career. But she has an much more important mission. Jenny is an activist, writing a successful series of books, and claiming that her son’s diagnosis of autism was largely attributable to vaccinations. Her boyfriend Jim Carrey has also joined her activism on the subject.
With her site Generation Rescue, Jenny is on a quest to help children with autism in meaningful ways. She is committed to researching the causes and treatments for autism, ADHD and other illnesses and disorders.
One key element of the site is a challenge to the media’s conventional messaging about autism. McCarthy and Carrey believe that vaccines are causing injury to our children and they raise some interesting issues.
According to the site, “Generation Rescue is an international movement of scientists, physicians and parent-volunteers researching the causes and treatments for autism and mentoring thousands of families in recovering their children from autism.”
It is noteworthy that Jenny is a proponent of a gluten free and dairy free diet, which has helped her son and other autistic children. Jenny is personally committed to a gluten free diet, enjoys it and stays gluten free with her personal eating habits as well.
The site is a very worthwhile visit and Food Facts members will no doubt find it to be thought provoking. Check out Jenny’s views and activities at Generation Rescue.com.
