Dr. Liwei Chen, an assistant professor of epidemiology at the School of Public Health at the LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans states, “Weight loss from liquid calories is greater than loss of calorie intake from solid food”. This happens as our body can regulate intake of solid food itself. But for drinks our body can’t self regulate. When our body can’t adjust for liquid calories, our body gains more weight.

If you are looking for the simplest approach to lose extra fat from your body, then keep a control on all beverages that contains sugar in it. In this way you will be able to lose more weight rapidly. Benjamin Caballero, M. D., Ph.D., of Johns Hopkins University describes that if you remove sugar-containing drinks from your usual diet for around six months then you would notice one pound of weight loss every month. This was published in the medical journal American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, owned by the American Society for Nutrition. Soft drinks are very beneficial for under weight people as it helps to gain weight. According to the new research, the people who eliminated their drink calories lost more weight than the people who didn’t decrease their soft drinks calories.

Generally what happens when we drink sugar-containing drinks is that we think that it will fill our stomach, but in fact it does not make us feel full and these drinks fill all the calories in our stomach.     I really did not know this. I thought that food calories were worse than liquid calories. I have such a sweet tooth and I love to drink Diet Coke. After reading this I have decided to cut out all fizzy drinks from my diet completely. Anytime I feel like a fizzy drink I am going to have a glass of water or fruit juice.
